Best Riding Mower Under $2000
For anyone with a large lawn, a riding mower is almost a must, and for anyone with a small or medium
lawn, it is a luxury that provides a little pleasure and leisure to mowing the lawn. Nothing quite beats the feeling of hitting 8mph, wind in your hair, lawn neatly trimmed.
There are several types of riding lawn mower, each with their own benefits and drawbacks. The multipurpose lawn tractor can use applications for other outside jobs, where the rear-engine mowers are designed for great handling while mowing the lawn. The zero-turn mowers are perhaps the ultimate bit of kit, with a zero degree turning circle, and usually fast and powerful engines.
The downside to riding mowers, aside from the noise and pollution elements, has always been the cost. It can be difficult to find a riding mower for any less than a few thousand. For that reason we have brought together some of the best riding mowers, under $2000, that are available on the market today.
1. Cub Cadet LTX 1050
With a 24HP Kohler engine, the Cub Cadet LTX 1050 is a powerful machine, capable of dealing with almost any terrain. It is extremely durable, and well built- so much so that a 3-year warranty comes as standard. It is also very easy to assemble and to use. Cruise control makes for a smooth ride, further enhanced by pedal control for speed and direction, and a neat turning circle of 12 degrees. This really is a beast of a machine, and though not the newest model on the market, is an absolute steal at around $1900, making this one of the best riding mowers under $2000.
2. Husqvarna Fast Tractor YTH24V48
The Husqvarna Fast Tractor is one heck of a machine, with a 24HP Briggs & Stratton twin cylinder engine which offers more power, and a better fuel economy. With a top speed on nearly 8mph, you will be flying around your garden in this- it is very fast for a lawn tractor. Like most lawn tractors, the Husqvarna Fast Tractor offers plenty of attachments, and can mow, plow, mulch, and bag, and more. An air induction system improves the quality of the cut, and this peace of mind is coupled with the sort of peace that only a truly comfortable riding mower can offer: a high-back chair with armrests, a cupholder, and cruise control. The price for this beast? A little under $2000.
3. Troy-Bilt TB30R
Rear-engine tractors are designed specifically for lawn mowing, and nothing else. While this can be limiting, it also makes it much easier to get a good quality riding mower for under $2000; there are many rear-engine mowers available at this price. Our budget option for today, is the Troy-Bilt TB30R, which has achieved extremely good ratings, and actually costs around $999. Absolute bargain. It's not full of features, but it does the job very well, with a neat cut, easy maneuverability, and a top speed of 4.5mph. It is small, nifty, and cheap!
4. Snapper RE210
The Snapper RE210 features 6-height adjustable cutting, hydrostatic transmission for responsiveness and control, and variable speeds up to 5mph, and 2mph in reverse. It has a 15.5HP Briggs & Stratton engine, with electric start. Everything about it is just nice and easy, even down to its compact design, which makes it easy to store. Snapper use a patented roll-lip deck, which increases performance, and makes for a brilliant mow. It is a higher grade mower than the Troy-Bilt, and for that reason you pay double the price. The Snapper is one of the best riding mowers for under $2000, and may be one of the finest rear-engines out there for that price.
